Practice Area - Money Laundering
Money laundering is the broad term that describes the process of creating the appearance that amounts of money obtained from crimes, such as gambling or drug trafficking, originated from a legitimate source. Often these alleged schemes involve business enterprises that overstate the cash flow to the government and attribute the illegal funds to the income of the legitimate enterprise. This way the illegitimate funds, that are difficult to convert from cash, become apparently legitimate earnings.
